What is GPS?

Global Positioning System, or short - GPS, is a global positioning system constituted from 24 satellites, providing 3D coverage of every point on this planet giving information about position, speed and accurate time.
Considering the fact that the system was developed by the Ministry of Defense (DoD) of USA, from the beginning in 1978 GPS was used in military, but from 1995 it became available commercially.
